New Blip: Akurra

Akurra, from Jason Newman and Craig Collver, is an isometric block-pushing puzzler that mixes in open world exploration, inspired by the likes of Chip's Challenge, StarTropics, Adventures of Lolo, Sokoban, and The Legend of Zelda. You explore a series of five islands that see you trekking through caverns and jungles, climbing mountains, and navigating pools of lava alongside an active volcano. Each island is packed with puzzles and secrets, many of which are solved by pushing gigantic blocks that can smash through pieces of the landscape or be dropped in holes and used as stepping stones, clearing the way to keys and other items that unlock the path forward. Puzzles become more complex as the game goes on, but the open world nature of the environments lets you take off and explore elsewhere if you get stuck.

The game is coming to PC, Mac, and Switch in June of 2021. A demo is available on Steam and Itch.
