Target Acquired: Crypt Stalker

Crypt Stalker is the latest retro-style actioner from Sinclair Strange, the developer behind Jet Gunner and Running VoltGun. The game is modeled after the NES-era Castlevania games, offering sidescrolling stages where you whip demonic enemies, or take them down from a distance with limited-ammo secondary weapons. The game also features some tough platforming challenges as you run across conveyor belts, use your whip to swing between grapple points, and fight enemies while hopping between moving platforms. You take on the role of a Crypt Stalker named Gladys as she hunts down demons that have opened a portal into the human world, emerging from the pyramids of Egypt. The main game takes place across nine sizeable stages, although the game also includes a 6-level easy mode, and a completely separate 4-level Gameboy-themed game, along with challenge levels and a boss rush, all in one package.
